trafgen is a high speed user space network traffic generator which is part of the netsniff-ng toolkit.
In the below tests it will be used to perform traffic flood based tests; for other test types see the Validation and Performance Testing page.
For installation on a Debian based hosts:
apt -y install netsniff-ng
For RedHat based hosts:
yum install netsniff-ng
First a trafgen configuration file needs to be created. Create a configuration file (eg. trafgen.cfg) with the folllowing content:
